I started working with Mike Deibler after finishing my first semester of law school.  The rigorous program left me depleted, physically, mentally, and emotionally.  Not only was I struggling academically for the first time in my life, but the extra weight that I was so proud to have lost and kept off in college was rapidly creeping back on, leaving me feeling hopeless and distraught.  I knew that I had to make some changes in my life to help manage the stress, or I would lose everything I had worked so hard for.  Even at my thinnest, I have never felt very comfortable working out.  However, Mike helped me to feel immediately at ease in a non-intimidating, one-on-one environment, where I didn't have to worry about what other people thought or how I looked.  Each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the next three months, I became stronger and healthier with Mike pushing me to my limits every session.  After four weeks of training with Mike, I started to feel more confident exercising, so I signed up to participate in a charity half-marathon.  In addition to feeling better and being amazed that I actually stuck with an exercise regimen FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, I was seeing academic gains as well.  Despite a higher course load, I improved my grades so much in the spring semester that the University recognized me!  I would never have seen that level of progress without working with Mike.  His patience, knowledge, and motivation propelled me to become more physically fit than I have ever been in my whole life.  On top of all that, the custom diet that he prescribed for me is miraculous.  Take him to the grocery store with you and you won't be sorry!  Sessions with Mike Deibler have been the best investment I could ever make.  I am happy to report that with Mike's help, I am at the lowest weight I have been since starting law school. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to achieve their goals.

Dear Mike,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being my trainer and for all that you have done for me.  Your knowledge, patience and skills as a teacher have enabled me to achieve the goals I have set for myself.  Having worked out with you, I see results that I have been hoping for: my back pain is GONE, I have tons of energy, I sleep like a rock; I have never felt so strong and healthy in my life.  You have positively motivated me to challenge myself and encourage me when I tried to slack off.  You have given me all the tools I need to continue a healthy lifestyle including better eating habits and effective workouts on my own.  As requested by you, I will keep you posted on my health and fitness.  I appreciate your concern and dedication very much!  I wish you all the best in your life.  Everybody who has you for a trainer should consider themselves fortunate.

Sincerely,
Claudia B

Mike is a terrific personal trainer. My wife goes to him and talked me into at least giving him a try.  Well, about 7 months later  and 38 lbs less,  I'm impressed and my wife was right again.  Mike's routines are progressive and very specific for my age, weight and ability.
Thanks Mike.  A. Smith

As I newcomer to San Diego, I knew I needed to kick start my exercise routine after dealing with the stresses of moving and starting a new job.  I had worked out at gyms before but I wanted to learn new techniques, lose a couple of pounds and, eventually, participate in a short triathlon.  I decided to train with Mike after watching him interact with other clients.  He treats his clients with respect and matches plans to their differing fitness needs and levels.  For me, the more we workout, the more I learn and the more I realize there is to learn.  For instance, much of our recent efforts focus on specific methods to improve posture and recover from existing injuries.  This experience is really about learning how to live a healthier, balanced life.  I feel very fortunate to have found Mike; it is easy to give him very high recommendations. - Katy

Mike,
I just wanted you to know before I started on your 8 week program and began our 'biggest loser' at work, I was at 195 pounds.  I can't believe I weighed that much.  Today I weighed 174 1/2 at school.  I'm happy with this but still want to lose twenty more.  It is a slow process but I really want to keep the weight off.

I ran 3.5 miles today on the trails and felt the strongest and fastest I've been in a very long time.  Last night I did the spring workout on the bike and found it to be one of my favorites.  I can't believe I'm saying that since I used to hate it.

I couldn't believe the number of positive comments from parents and staff at Back-to-School night regarding how well I looked.  I really was at a loss for words (when am I ever like that).  I guess because I'm seeing the changes myself in such little increments, I don't realize the change over time.

Corey returned my fitness equipment she had borrowed and it was sitting in the front of my classroom.  While I was walking around monitoring my students as they worked, I decided to pick up my 10lb medicine ball and just give it a little toss up and down.  I soon had a student asking if I would throw it to him.  I cautioned him that is was not a playground ball, but weighed 10lbs.  He assured me he knew that and I gave it a toss.  The next thing I knew, every hand in the class was up asking me to toss the ball to each one.  And, I did.  We had so much fun as each student tried their best to catch it perfectly and I got such a work out throwing it to everyone.  After four class periods, I was a little tired and gave it a rest.

I never thought I would be bringing fitness into my English classroom but I did.  I shared this story with our 8th grade PE teacher and he says the kids can hardly wait to use medicine balls, stability balls, weights, etc.   He says it is partly because they see us using it on the field after school.

You just never know how much your life can impact that of a child.

Hi Mike,

I met you at one of the beach boot camps my mom Patty took me to a while ago. I just wanted to tell you what a great influence you have been in my mom's life! She has lost 20lbs I'm guessing and is still motivated to lose more. She looks amazing and appears happier in general. You have been a great trainer, motivator, and inspiration.  Keep doing what you're doing!

Sincerely,

Jenny

Dear Mike,

I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate the patience, effort, and guidance you have consistently given me in our workouts. Having hired other trainers, I know the difference between those who are just okay and those who are outstanding. You, Mike, are outstanding. Your knowledge and mentorship has helped me lose body fat, increase strength, muscle size, and endurance, all of which had eluded me for years.

I have recommended you to several people I know, and I will continue to recommend you to anyone who is interested in a professional, highly qualified, and caring personal trainer.

Best wishes to you always,

Mitch

When I started Mike's 8 week challenge I would never have thought of it as having such a huge impact on my life. My fitness level was pretty high to begin with since I am a professional horse trainer, work out at the gym frequently, and have always nourished myself pretty healthy.
Now nicely muscled up and close to 20 lbs lighter with 9% of body- fat loss, I feel better than I ever felt before in my life- both mentally and physically. Mike's exercise program worked out perfectly for me thanks to his great skill of assessing how hard you can train without getting injured. At the beginning I wasn't so sure about how my body would keep up with riding all day and doing strength training at night, but my body always felt good doing it! By now muscle has replaced fat even in areas that I could never get rid of the excess pounds (thigh-butt area, stomach).

But apart from just looking better, Mike's work- outs and nutritional recommendations helped me in my professional life as a horse trainer. As a competitive dressage rider I always knew that my sport probably required the most complicated mix of technique, coordination and strength that any sport can challenge you with. Still I had no idea how much this work-out would improve my seat and effect of the aids- my brain always knew how to do it correctly according to the training scale, but it wasn't always easy for my body to follow these instructions.
By the end of the program I won my first Prix St. Georges at a well recognized CDI*** in front of international judges....

I am the really fortunate one having won the challenge and now getting a month of free personal training- something I set my mind on doing from the very first work-out I had with Mike which made me want more of his amazing training....Thanks for everything Mike!  - Birthe
